We strongly recommend all our patients register with a dentist and have annual check ups.

The practice is unable to deal with routine dental problems. Please contact your dentist if you need dental treatment.

If you do not have a dentist, then please contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647 initially.  They will try to organise a local dentist for you to see.

If your dentist cannot see you, and you have severe toothache, a tooth abscess or bleeding in your mouth, then we may be able to help until you can see a dentist for proper care.


URGENT DENTAL CARE MONDAY TO FRIDAY 

If you do not have a regular dentist and are suffering from a dental emergency, an appointment for urgent treatment can be obtained through the in hours Emergency Dental Service.  To access the service please phone 111. 

You will speak to a qualified dental nurse who will triage your symptoms and provide pain management advice.  If appropriate the nurse will provide you with a service access code.  You will then need to call the emergency access booking line between 8.45 am - 4.00 pm to arrange an appointment.  Where possible they will try and offer you an appointment at a convenient time and location. Tel 01267 229692

URGENT DENTAL CARE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 

If you do not have a regular dentist and are suffering from a dental emergency, an appointment for urgent treatment can be obtained through the out of hours Emergency Dental Service, dial 111. 

FINDNG A DENTIST FOR ROUTINE CARE 

Hywel Dda University Health Board facilitate a centralised waiting list, from which practices in the Health Board can take on new NHS patients.  To be placed on the waiting list, please contact the dental services team on 01267 229692 or 01267 229695.

Please note: they only hold a waiting list for South Ceredigion and East Carmarthenshire (Llandeilo, Crosshands and Llanelli).  For Pembrokeshire, Carmarthen town and North Ceredigion, patients need to contact the practices directly to be added to their waiting list.

COMMUNITY DENTAL 

They provide preventative and restorative treatment services to priority groups including children, adults, elderly persons and if you require specialised treatment skills not available in the general dental practice.  The care is provided from community clinics.

CHARGES FOR NHS DENTISTRY 

There are currently three charge bands for NHS dental treatment.

NHS dental treatment is FREE for children under 18 and certain other groups meeting the exemption criteria.  Help with NHS dental charges may be available and can be obtained by those meeting the criteria by completion of a HC1 form available from your dentist or from the Health Costs website by clicking HERE.
