Free online therapy without needing to go through your GP.  People aged 16 and over experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, depression or stress can sign up for a 12 week course of SilverCloud online therapy via their smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

ACCESS MENTAL HEALTH WELLBEING AND SUPPORT VIA 111

A single point of contact for well-being and mental health for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire launches on Monday 20th June 2022. 

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the first health board in Wales to launch a dedicated mental health advice service, offering support for all age groups through the established 111 call line. From today people will be able to access the service by phoning 111 and selecting option 2 where they will be put through to a mental health practitioner.

The service will be accessible 7 days a week from 9.00am through to 11.30pm, with plans in place to move to a 24/7 operating hours later in the year.


THE SANCTUARY SERVICE  

The Sanctuary Service is an out-of-hours crisis support centre, it is operational Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday 5 pm - 2 am

Appointments can be in person (at the Aberystwyth project building 9 Portland Road, Aberystwyth SY23 2NL) or can be telephone support - both for up to 2 hours.  

A service user can be referred by a professional (can be GP, Nurse, Therapist, Support Worker etc), they need to complete a referral form: CEREDIGION SANCTUARY SERVICE - PROFESSIONAL REFERRAL FORM (office.com).  

REFER DETAILS NEEDED: 

  • Date and Time
  • Name and job title of referrer
  • Contact number and email address of referrer
  • Category of organisation, eg. GP/ out of hours
  • CONSENT STATEMENT has the individual being referred been clearly informed and explicitly consented to their information being shared with The Sanctuary Service? 

SERVICE USER DETAILS NEEDED:

  • First name and surname
  • Gender, ethnicity and date of birth
  • Address including postcode and telephone number
  • Email address 
  • Has the individual previously been supported by The Sanctuary? 
  • Is the individual known to services? If so provide details
  • Any known risks? If so, are they a risk to self/ others? Please provide details
  • Individuals presenting needs/ identified areas of concern (safeguarding, domestic violence, gambling, isolation etc) 

Service users can also self refer by calling 01970 629 897 (during operational hours only). The Sanctuary staff will then triage the service user to assess their needs, and an appointment for support will be given if deemed eligible.  If a service user is not eligible for The Sanctuary service, they will be escalated to the appropriate services (CRHT/ Police/ WAST). 

The service can support anyone from the age of 18 years or above living in Ceredigion who may be experiencing: 

  • Difficulties or anxieties relating to the coronavirus pandemic
  • Stress and/ or anxiety
  • Low mood
  • Financial worries
  • Difficulties with loneliness, isolation and family or relationship worries
  • Suffering from domestic abuse
  • Deteriorating mental health as a result of a range of factors 

We also have the Ceredigion CYP Sanctuary Service, which supports 12 to 18 year olds, every Fri/Sat/Sun, from 5pm to 10pm.

AREA 43 COUNSELLING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE 

Area 43 Counselling Services Here For You is a free online counselling service for young people (aged 16-30).  You can register online.  You can phone them between 10 am - 5 pm on 01239 614566, or you can send them an email.
