Versus Arthritis is a community providing support for people with Arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions across the UK. Versus Arthritis is the merger of Arthritis Care and Arthritis Research UK. We believe too many people accept the daily pain, fatigue, and isolation that arthritis can cause. Often it is dismissed as ‘just a bit of arthritis’. But we don’t accept that and help people to live well with their condition. We are constantly campaigning to challenge the misconceptions around arthritis and to ensure that arthritis is recognised as a priority in the UK. We also fund research into arthritis.

Over 10 million people in the UK live with Arthritis and other Musculoskeletal conditions. There are over a 100 of these conditions, including Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupas, Gout, Fibromyalgia, Bursitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Raynauds Phenomenon, Vasculitis, Plantar Fasciatis and Achilles Tendinopathy.

Versus Arthritis works across the 4 nations and Cymru Versus Arthritis provides support and Services for people across Wales, providing people, friends, families and professionals with support, understanding, information and expertise, so that they can self-manage and live well with their condition.

Locally, I am Sarah Greener I am the Services Co-Ordinator covering Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. My aim is to ensure that everyone has access to the best information, advice and support they need, whenever they need it.

We are currently able to provide the following support to adults with any form of arthritis or musculoskeletal condition (including those waiting for joint replacement and those waiting for a diagnosis) across Wales.

This support includes :

1:1 support over the phone
Helping people to access information about conditions and strategies for living well with arthritis
Signposting and referrals to other organisations where appropriate
Support Groups – providing information, peer support and activities.
Speaking at community groups to raise awareness and have stands/information hubs in the community
Recruiting and supporting volunteers, to provide peer to peer support or run support groups across the county
